A few months ago we were approached by a local Comprehensive School to help out with some First Aid training for a select number of year 11 students.
After a short discussion between the directors it was decided that not only could we help out, but we would provide this two day training package at no cost to the school. The Emergency First Aid at Work qualification was selected as the ideal training as it could be easily transferred in to the workplace. The night before the training, the fear in the trainers voice was ever increasing as the realisation dawned that he would be delivering this training to young people, this was unchartered territory! However, once the formalities had taken place and instructor and students had met the course progressed with ease and it was fantastic to see the enthusiasm and willingness to learn. ‘Thanks’ go to Tideway School for giving us the opportunity to work with their students and we hope to repeat this training next year.
