As Advanced Training Solutions embark on their 6th year of training, they would like to reflect on some of the highlights over the last few years of trading.  As is obvious from the company name, Advanced Training Solutions are a training organisation who started trading as a Fire Safety Training and Fire Safety Consultancy some 6 years ago.  Both Company directors had a wealth of knowledge in the Fire Safety and Fire Training world, gleened from over 22 years of Service each, in the Royal Air Force Fire & Rescue Service.  On leaving the Service it seemed a natural progression to move in to the training world as both had finished their respective careers teaching many Fire related subjects at the RAF Fire & Rescue training establishment based in Kent.

Quickly, the work started to flow in as the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order came in to force, with many organisations wanting to keep abreast of the changes and get their Fire Risk Assessments up to date and have their staff trained in both Basic Fire Safety and Fire Warden duties.  However, it came apparent in the early years that whilst many organisations wanted to be compliant with the new regulations, many did not and that is still the case today and can be seen from all of the recent fines that have been issued for non compliance.  Notably, during the recession, training appeared to be one of the first things cut from peoples budgets!

Embarking on First Aid Training was soon to follow, as with the Fire Training, this was a field in which both directors had years of experience and ATS became HSE accredited at the very first attempt of applying and were able to offer HSE accredited First Aid at Work and Emergency First Aid at Work courses to their portfolio.  This accreditation triggered a rush for first aid training and within a few months ATS had won a number of very nice contracts to deliver Emergency Life Support & First Aid Training and these contracts are still running at the time of writing this post.

Manual Handling Training is also an area covered within the ATS training portfolio and with almost 40% of over three day accidents in the workplace being attributable to Manual Handling, it is a course in which we take extremely seriously with all of our trainers being IOSH trained.

To conclude, Advanced Training Solutions continues to grow and go from strength to strength with more courses booked for the coming months and new clients being added to the portfolio on a weekly basis.  Long may it continue.
